1. Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account/Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

This account of SBI bank focuses on the poorer sections of the country to inculcate the habit of saving in them.

  1. Minimum or Maximum Limit: There is no limit to the balance while opening the account. 
  2. Eligibility Criteria: The person must have valid KYC documents 
  3. Cheque Book Facility: Not Available
  4. Monthly Withdrawal Limit: 4 withdrawals from ATM will be allowed 
  5. Debit Card: RuPay ATM/Debit Card
  6. Credit Card: Not available 
  7. Additional Features: The person has a nomination facility and can have Safe Deposit Lockers. 

2. SBI Regular Savings Bank Account 

It is the basic savings account of SBI Bank with basic features like internet banking, credit card, SMS banking, Debit Card, etc. 

  1. Minimum or Maximum Limit: There is no limit to a maximum balance and there is no minimum balance limit, it can be kept as a zero balance account. 
  2. Eligibility Criteria: A person who has a PAN card can open this account.
  3. Cheque Book Facility: The first 10 cheques are free, when you buy another chequebook, pay RS 40 for 10 cheques and RS 75 for 25 Cheques.
  4. Debit Card: RuPay ATM/Debit Card and personalized debit cards are also issued 
  5. Credit Card: Credit Card will be issued as per rules 
  6. Additional Features: The person has a nomination facility, mobile banking, and can have Safe Deposit Lockers. 

3. SBI Basic Small Savings Account 

This bank account of SBI is specifically for the EWS section of the society. 

  1. Minimum or Maximum Limit: The minimum balance limit is zero and the maximum balance limit is Rs 50000. 
  2. Eligibility Criteria: Age should be more than 18 years. 
  3. Monthly Withdrawal Limit: 4 withdrawals from ATM
  4. Debit Card: RuPay ATM Card will be issued 
  5. Credit Card: Not Available 
  6. Additional Features: The maximum amount of the transaction should be RS 10000

4. SBI Savings Account for Minors 

This bank account of SBI is to target children below 18 years of age to develop saving habits. The bank accounts for the Minors will be monitored by the parents. 

  1. Minimum or Maximum Limit:  Maximum account balance is Rs 10 Lakh 
  2. Eligibility Criteria: A person with an age less than 10 years or more 
  3. Transaction Limit: For Internet Banking RS 5000 per day and Mobile Banking, RS 2000 per day 
  4. Debit Card: A photo ATM Card will be issued 
  5. Credit Card: Not available 
  6. Additional Features: Two checkbooks, the first is Pehla Kadam to the minor below 10 years and the other is Pehli Udaan to the minor above 10 years who can sign. 

5. SBI Savings Plus Account 

It is a kind of Multi Option Deposit Scheme of the SBI Bank. This bank account will behave like the term deposit account and its life is for one to five years. 

  1. Minimum or Maximum Limit:  The minimum balance should be RS 35000
  2. Eligibility Criteria: A person should have KYC documents 
  3. Transaction Limit: The minimum amount of transaction is Rs 10000  
  4. Debit Card: ATM Card will be provided 
  5. Cheque Book Facility: 25 free cheques will be given each year 
  6. Additional Features: The deposit period will be from 1 year to 5 years Loan

6. Insta Plus Video KYC Savings Account 

  1. Eligibility Criteria: The person who is more than 18 years of age, has a CIF, SBIPAN, Aadhar Card with phone number registered 
  2. Debit Card: RuPay Classic Card will be given 
  3. Additional Features: SBI Quick Missed Call Facility, IMPS, NEFT, Nomination facility, SMS Alerts, UPI

Steps to Open a Savings Account in SBI Offline

A person who wants to open an SBI Bank Saving account offline needs to follow the below steps.

  1. Go to the SBI Bank branch near to you.
  2. Take the phone of the Saving Bank account.
  3. Enter the details in the form of an SBI bank.
  4. If you do not have a PAN card then fill out Form 2.
  5. You should submit the filled SBI Bank form along with the KYC documents.
  6. For opening the Bank Account give RS 1000.
  7. When your account is opened, you will revive the passbook and checkbook. 

Steps to Open a Savings Account in SBI Online:

The person should proceed with the below steps for applying for the SBI Bank online savings account. 

  1. The first step is to open the SBI Bank website.
  2. See the option of Accounts and tap on the Saving Account tab.
  3. Press the Apply button.
  4. Fill out the asked details in the online SBI Bank Saving Account like your name, last name, address, DOB, address, etc.
