The cut-off score is the minimum marks obtained by a candidate for the admission of the medical entrance examination. The estimated cut off has been released by different coaching institutes. In this article of today, check the possible cutter for General, ST, SC, OBC.

Based on the minimum qualifying percentage of NTA NEET 2020 exam, a merit list will be prepared by Medical Counseling Committees (MCC) for admission to deemed / central universities, AFMS, and ESIC institutes.

NTA NEET Cut off 2020 – Percentile and Marks

According to the official information brochure, the NEET cutoff percentile provides a comparison of performance among candidates. It means that the NTA NEET 2020 cutoff percentile will be decided on the basis of the marks of the highest marks obtained in the merit list for admission to MBBS / BDS courses. For example, if the NEET cut off is 50th percentile for unreserved candidates, it means that candidates in this category will need to score more than 50% of the candidates in this category.

NTA NEET Cut off 2020 – Tie-breaking Criteria:-

When two or more candidates receive the same score in NEET UG 2020, this tie is broken to prepare the NEET Merit List 2020, for which the following tie-breaking process is used:-

  • Marks of Biology: Firstly, will be considered marks obtained by the candidate in Biology (Zoology + Botany) section of NEET Question Paper 2020. The candidate who has got more marks in the Biology section will be placed higher in order of merit than others.
  • Marks of Chemistry:- If the tie conditions still previous then will be considered the marks obtained by the candidate in the Chemistry section of NEET 2020. In NEET 2020, the candidate who has got maximum marks in Chemistry will be ranked higher in the rank list than the candidate who got fewer marks in the same subject.
  • Giving less wrong answers: Even after this, the tie condition remains, then the candidates who have given fewer wrong answers will be placed above the candidates who gave more wrong answers.
  • Age of candidate: If all other tie-breaking factors fail in ending the tie condition, then age will be considered at the end. Candidates of higher age will be given priority in merit order over others.

NEET 2020 cutoff for admission:-

The NEET 2020 cutoff will be considered necessary for admission to the following UG Medical seats:-

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
  • 85% state quota seats
  • Deemed and Central University
  • ESIC and AFMS
  • Private institute

NEET Counseling 2020:-

Based on the All India Rank (AIR), the examination organizer authority will prepare NEET Merit List 2020, showing the rank-wise names of the candidates who have passed the examination. Merit list will be sent to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for conducting NEET 2020 counselling for 15% AIQ, Deemed / Central Universities seats, ESIC, AFMS and Central Pool seats. 

Whereas the remaining 85% of state quota seats of government colleges will be allotted by the respective state counselling authorities based on the marks and rank obtained in NEET 2020 exam. The State Counseling Body will also be responsible for giving admission in private medical/dental colleges located in a specific state.
